thefade.net QOTSA Poll - Queens of the Stone Age Favorite Song - Choose the QOTSA song you like most
April 7, 2008 - A New Era
Sorry about the long time between updates (again). I am working on developing a new version of thefade.net - it will include such awesomeness as a message board, video gallery (where users can add their own favorite clips) and image gallery (where users can upload/add their own pictures, including tour posters and other fun stuff). I'm hoping to have this all up and running by the end of the month. Until then, check out this great clip of the Gutter Twins (Mark Lanegan) performing on the David Letterman show:

Fourth: Burn The Witch - 21%
December 29, 2007 - A Special Treat for the New Year
As many of you know, a number of the live performance clips on the video page of the website don't work anymore. This is because YouTube deletes videos very often and its a pain in the ass to update the links constantly. So I created a solution. I've compiled a whole bunch of great QOTSA performances from YouTube (65 so far) into a single playlist. You can watch the videos in the player below or click here to see the entire list. I'll be adding more videos every week - enjoy!
December 10, 2007 - New QOTSA DVD?
First off, sorry for the long time in between updates. There are rumors QOTSA will release a second live DVD in 2008 - this will include footage from their "underground" show in a German salt mine. A teaser clip of this show is posted below. Also, the band appeared as guests on the Christmas special of "No Reservations", a food show hosted by chef Anthony Bourdain. It is playing on many local travel channels...and I'll post a link here once I find it on the internet. Last but not least, the last preliminary Lullabies poll results are posted below and the final LTP poll has been posted above.
First: Someone's In The Wolf - 41%
Second: Long Slow Goodbye - 31%
Third:
Everybody Knows That You're Insane - 28%
November 4, 2007 - Make It Wit Chu Video & Rated R Documentary
First off, listen to this awesome documentary on the making of Rated R that aired on xFM (UK radio station) a couple weeks ago: Click Here to Listen
And you must also watch the new Make It Wit Chu music video:
And last but not least, I've updated the poll once again - previous results look something like this:
First: Burn The Witch - 38%
Second: In My Head - 37%
Third: The Blood Is Love - 25%
September 30, 2007 - 3's & 7's Video
Sorry about the long time in between updates. Below is the "boobs" version of the 3's & 7's music video. It's not really safe for work - some QOTSA fans love this video and some hate it, I'll let you decide for yourself:
I've also updated the Lullabies poll - the final results of the previous poll are below:
First: Broken Box - 39%
Second: Little Sister - 38%
Third: This Lullaby - 12%
Fourth:
Skin on Skin - 11%
August 9, 2007 - More Fun Stuff
Sorry about the length of time between updates - it's summer, I've been on vacation and generally the weather is too good to sit inside and work on the computer. I am starting the next round of QOTSA song polls - Lullabies is the next album we need to go through. The results of the favorite QOTSA album poll are below:
First: Songs for the Deaf - 33%
Second: Self-Titled - 22%
Third: Rated R - 21%
Fourth: Era Vulgaris - 13%
Fifth: Lullabies to Paralyze - 11%
And last but not least, I was emailed a setlist to the July 29th show at Billings which was signed by Mikey Shoes. You can download it by clicking here - thanks to Hiroko for sending it to me!
July 15, 2007 - We (finally) have a winner
I wanted to wait until there was a clear winner in the "favorite SFTD song poll" and it took over 2000 votes. It was incredibly even between Go With The Flow and Song For The Dead, but at the end of the day, only one song can move on:
Winner: Go With The Flow - 35%
Second: Song For The Dead - 34%
Third: Song For The Deaf - 21%
Fourth: Millionaire - 10%
I decided to take a break from "favorite song" polls and do a "favorite QOTSA album" one instead. Please take part in the democratic process and make your voice heard. After this, we have to finish Lullabies and Era Vulgaris before we can match the top QOTSA song from each album in a massive battle-royal. I'll also try to add some new QOTSA videos to the site in the coming days. I hope everyone is enjoying the summer weather and the amazing QOTSA concerts.
May 17, 2007 - Overdue Update
Finally, results from Rated R's final poll are as follows:
Winner:
Better Living Through Chemistry - 39%
Second: In the Fade - 37%
Third: Leg of Lamb - 12%
Fourth: Feel Good Hit of the Summer - 12%
Better Living Through Chemistry joins Mexicola in the finals. Start voting on Songs for the Deaf songs now!
April 13, 2007 - Package Time!
A group of 50 or so lucky QOTSA fans who entered the contest held on this site less than a week ago got a very special something in the mail from the band today. The packages contained a note from Dr. Insider allowing us to share what was enclosed after midnight. Well...its now past midnight GMT, so I'll post what was in the package.
It contained a CD with the single titled "Era Vulgaris" on it. This was intended to be the title track for the album and features Trent Reznor from NIN, but was dropped from the album. Enjoy this special track...and hopefully you will all trust this website from now on. QOTSA hinted similar "competitions" will occur from time to time, so keep checking this website often.
April 11, 2007 - Enter Your Address, Win a Special QOTSA Package!
Thanks to everyone who entered the contest. I have emailed the entire list (900+ people) to my inside contact. I am not sure exactly when the winners will be notified or when the packages will be sent out. The winners should get an email with a tracking number of the package, but again, I'm not sure when that will arrive either. Thanks for taking part in this exciting opporunity and good luck!
