My God Is The Sun – New QOTSA song live from Brazil

Not much to say. Recorded at Lollapalooza Brasil on March 30, 2013:

Era Vulgaris – The Guvernment – Toronto, Canada – 2007

The song Era Vulgaris will always hold a special place in my heart, because TheFade.net helped release the track (which was cut from the album of the same name) back in spring of 2007. QOTSA fans were asked to enter a contest on this website and we got nearly 700 entries. A number of lucky fans had a “special package” arrive in the mail a few days later that was sent by the band, containing a CD titled “You Know What You Did” with this song on it. It was a fun few weeks being involved in this project and this a great song:

Centipede – Sound City Players Soundtrack

While this song (made for the Sound City: Real To Reel documentary) isn’t actually a Queens of the Stone Age track, it was created by Josh Homme and three former QOTSA members (Dave Grohl, Alain Johannes and Chris Goss). The beginning is very reminiscent of the Foo Fighters single “Razor” but the second half of the track turns into a jam that reminds me of Fun Machine. Anyway, if you haven’t heard Centipede yet, it’s worth a listen (or three):

Mexicola – Hove Fesitval – 2007

For some reason, this version of Mexicola from the 2007 Hove Festival in Norway sounds and looks amazing. It might be because the vocals are spot on or just because there seem to be plenty of attractive girls in the crowd. Either way, it is a very cool performance:

Green Machine (Kyuss) – Bizarre Festival – 1994

A video of Josh performing Green Machine with Kyuss from nearly 20 years ago. There aren’t a ton of Kyuss performances on the internet and this is one of the better clips I have found:

All The Same (The Dangerous Lives of Altar Boys Soundtrack)

All The Same was part of the soundtrack on The Dangerous Lives of Alter Boys. It features Josh on guitar and lead vocals, Nick Oliveri on bass and Brad Wilk (of Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave) on drums. It was also mixed by Alain Johannes – enjoy!
