thursday the queens played to a sell-out crowd of 3500 in the columbiahalle. easily the best show i have seen this year (& i have seen MP 7x this year, so go figure!). it was hard, tight, far out, sexy, just everything that makes you feel good. they took off completely when mark lanegan joined them. his voice elevated their sound so much. highlights included those creepy, mid-tempo songs off the second album ("autopilot", "better living through chemistry", "leg of lamb" et al) as well as wonderfully spaced out renditions of "no one knows" & "walking on the sidewalks". i enjoyed every second of this great show.

are they the best contemporary hard-rock band? i bet!

so, GO & SEE THEM! :)
