Jon Theodore is QOTSA’s new drummer!

About a week ago, we speculated that Jon Theodore would become the new drummer for Queens of the Stone Age. A couple days later, QOTSA’s press release announced that Jon had worked on the album, but stopped short of naming him a member of the band, however, recent photos of Josh Homme taken at LAX (where the band was departing for Brazil) include an interesting drummer lurking in the background:

Pretty sure that ain’t a coincidence. Very excited to see Jon behind the drumkit for Queens of the Stone Age!

…Like Clockwork made official

Hell yeah!

...Like Clockwork

Finally – we have actual news! (and maybe a new drummer as well)

If you are a fan of Queens of the Stone Age, here are a few things you should know.

1) It looks like the new album is called “…Like Clockwork”

2) It will be released in June

3) If you visit www.qotsa.com, you get to hear a short audio clip of new music. Refresh again to hear another clip. After the 9th refresh “…Like Clockwork” appears.

And finally, the rumor is that Jon Theodore (formerly of the Mars Volta) will be QOTSA’s next drummer. This hasn’t been confirmed so definitely take it as just a rumor for the time being. Either way, QOTSA is scheduled to play a show in Brazil in less than a week, so we should officially know who the band’s new drummer is at that point

Either way – Queens of the Stone Age is back and that is totally awesome news!
